Terry McManus was an artist from South Carolina who moved to Canada in the early '70s and recorded an album called Sunshine Pop in 1971, but was not released until bullseyesongs.com issued it in 2009. Although the album had not been released, the opening track, "Carolyn", was released as a single on A&M in 1971, and placed in the Canadian Top 100. The track features none other than John Woloschuk, who would found Klaatu a few years later! "Carolyn" is a great example of '70s sunshine pop, and here it is for your listening pleasure!
